In occult anatomy, the “twelve disciples” correspond to the twelve cranial nerves — the divine messengers that carry impulses between the brain (the “Christ center”) and the body (the “world of manifestation”).
The brain is the temple, with Christ (the awakened consciousness) at the center — the “light that enlightens every man.”
The twelve nerves are the disciples, channels of divine intelligence that obey the awakened mind.
When each is purified — perception, speech, hearing, feeling — they align to serve the inner Christ.
This is the “Resurrection”: the rising of divine light through the nervous system, illuminating body and soul.
