What I also find interesting is that the terraforming scourge of the earth, oil extraction ("HARVESTING" ) pumps follow a very similar form and function as the phage. Remember that most animal viruses have HEXONS, so its no miracle that we find the oil harvesting company EXXON. (This sounds trivial, but it will become more clear later in the article)
In War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells, the harvesters of humans also directly identified as the same form and function of a bacteriophage.

Latin virus (“POISON, SLIME, VENOM”), very reminiscent of the effect of oil contamination, oil SLICKS, SLUDGE, oil poisoning.
