Canon 4002
The word Holly is derived from the 11th century Saxon word hulis from ancient Celt khuli/cuili a shortened derivation of the ancient Gaelic cuilieann meaning Holly, sacred, venerated and most ancient bloodline of priests. Today in Modern Gaelic, Holly is still known as cuileann.
Canon 4003
While the 15th century creation of hallow from halig resulted in the word “holy”meaning to make a thing sacred or venerated, a person borne to the most sacred and ancient bloodline of the Holly is by definition holy by blood.

The Holly King is the seasonal archetype of the wise old bearded druid, "FATHER Christmas" and carries a staff made of "hollywood" (wand) and represents the winter solstice in the sign Capricorn, which is ruled by astrotheoligcal Saturn, the King of the zodiac and FATHER of the gods, his veneration is Saturnalia which falls during the 12 days of christmas known as Yuletide which is ruled by Odin the "all FATHER" god.
Canon 4004
The word cuileann is a variation on several words of the same origin including cullen, cuilleain, culeen, coileain, cullenan, kollyns, collins and o’collins from one of the oldest titles of history Cuilliaéan meaning cuil (corner/forest) + lia (stone/physician) + éan/ éin (bird/spirit/divine) or Divine Corner Stone, Divine Forest Teacher, or Green God, or Da’vid, or Druvid, or Druid."

This brings us to the DRUID, who is the WISE LEARNED ONE who KNOWS and has KNOWLEDGE OF THE DRYADS, the GNOSIS of not only the SPIRIT, the quintessence and metaphysics, but also the vitality, FERTILITY AND SEXUALITY OF NATURE, the healing and purposeful presence of our most sacred connection with the Divine manifest in mater. Which is why the words DRUID AND DRYAD are etymologically linked and phonetically reminiscent.
Through Gnosis we can move deeper and beyond the gut instinct and hormonal impulse of the many pleasures of MATERia and into the causal realm of the PATERn and unify the higher with the lower nature through the Hieros Gamos "SACRED UNION" of the HEART and MIND.
dryad (n.) 1550s, from Latin dryas, from Greek dryas (plural dryades) "WOOD NYMPH," from drus (genitive dryos) "oak," from PIE root *deru- "BE FIRM, SOLID, STEADFAST," with specialized senses "WOOD, TREE."
Druid (n.) 1560s, from French druide, from Latin druidae (plural), from Gaulish Druides, from Celtic compound dru-wid- "STRONG SEER," from Old Celtic derwos "TRUE" (from PIE root deru- "TREE," ESPECIALLY OAK) + wid- "TO KNOW" (from PIE root *weid- "TO SEE" ).
Hence, literally, perhaps, "THEY WHO KNOW THE OAK" (perhaps in allusion to divination from mistletoe). Anglo-Saxon, too, used identical words to mean "TREE" AND "TRUTH" (treow).
